A pedestrian walkway above the plaza of the Intercity MRT Zhuhai Station Square and Changsheng Road opened on Dec 18, connecting the station to Gongbei's Charming Mural Village in Changsheng Garden of Gongbei Yingbin Community.

The walkway is accessed near the entrance of either the Zhuhai Station Square or the adjacent bus terminal. Eight escalators and three elevators are in place for those with heavy luggage or physical challenges. Ceilings are made of composite materials to offer shelter from the weather.

In addition, the overpass is connected to Gongbei Checkpoint via a weatherproof corridor, and has reserved space for connection to Qingmao Checkpoint (New Guangdong-Macao Channel) now under construction. It is seen as a significant facility for border crossing travelers.

Costing 30 million yuan ($4.28 million), the Intercity MRT Zhuhai Station Pedestrian Overpass was constructed by Zhuhai Longzhuda Group. It is 150 m (164 yd) long, 5 m (16.5 ft) wide, and 5.5 m (18 ft) tall. The Longzhuda International Hotel is directly across from the station at 66 Changsheng Road.

The overpass design consists of a fashionable transparent structure of glass and steel. Visually integrated with the Zhuhai Station during daytime, it is an ideal spot on Changsheng Road from which to admire sunset. When darkness falls, the walkway lights up the nightscape with changing lights.
