Zhuhai General Aviation Airport in Lianzhou Town opened a short-haul air route on Dec 31 when a nine-seat 208B aircraft operated by Hainan Asia Pacific General Aviation took off on a maiden voyage to Danzhou of Hainan Province at 11:30 am.

The flight is scheduled to depart Danzhou at 9 am daily and arrive in Zhuhai at 11:20 am, while the return trip departs at 12:20 pm and arrives at 2:40 pm. The frequency may be increased to meet demands.

Tickets can be purchased at WeChat account gh_af979d0cd50f or through the TravelSky website at www.travelsky.com. The price is 300 yuan ($43) per person during the promotional period, whereas a chartered flight will cost 2,700 yuan ($387).

Another regular short-distance flight to Yangjiang and Luoding in Guangdong Province will be available during the Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 10 to Feb 18 at a lower price.

Next, more flights will be slated to neighboring cities such as Zhanjiang, Meizhou, and Shantou, according to an executive of Zhuhai General Aviation Airport Investment & Construction.

Located in northern Doumen District about 40.8 km (25 miles) from the city center and 50 km (31 miles) north of Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport in Sanzao Town of Jinwan District, Zhuhai General Aviation Airport came into operation in April 2019. The regional airport will also provide navigation, emergency rescue, general aviation exhibitions, low-altitude tourism, flight training, disaster monitoring, aircraft assembly, test flight, maintenance, and repair services.
