Newsight to build Zhuhai image-sensor headquarters

Israeli integrated circuit design company Newsight Imaging recently registered a wholly foreign-owned subsidiary enterprise in Zhuhai's China-Israel Accelerator Industrial Park in Tangjiawan.

The subsidiary – Zhuhai Newsight Science & Technology – received an investment allocation from the China-Israel industrial fund provided by Infinity Equity Management. The fund selects Israeli projects with products or mature business modes to settle in the China-Israel industrial park for industrialization.

The project is designated as a headquarters for Chinese business. Recruitment of engineers has begun in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan). Newsight is committed to offering more convenient R&D services and technical support to Chinese customers.

Eli Assoolin, CEO and co-founder of Newsight Imaging, said he found the zone to be superb in investment environment with the aggregation of innovation industries and all-round services. He said the company is confident of the development prospects of Zhuhai in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Newsight Imaging, founded in 2016 in Israel's Ness Ziona by veteran semi-conductor professionals, manufactures advanced complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor chips for automobiles, robotics, barcode scanners, and augmented/virtual reality industries.

Its products are primarily used in laser light detection and ranging (LiDAR)-based devices for autonomous cars, cellphone's time-of-flight (TOF) rear cameras, facial-recognition mobile payments, and floor-mopping robots.

Multiple Newsight chips have been in mass production and sold in China. The company will accelerate the R&D and quantity production of its latest products through collaboration with Austria’s ZKW Group, Shenzhen-based LeiShen Intelligent Systems, and the world’s top five consumer optical module manufacturers.
