The 5-km (3.1-mile) Zhuhai Avenue median greenbelt from Huafa Riverside in Nanping to Hezhou North in Doumen has been embellished with thousands of flowering trees.

The new landscape encompasses 2,170 sq m (2,595 sq yd) of ground cover and 1,911 sq m (2,286 sq yd) of Korean grass (Zoysia tenuifolia). Zhuhai Yuehua Landscaping Construction Management completed the installation on March 9 under the guidance of the city's Urban Management & Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau.

Zhuhai Avenue is riotous with color

Vast arrays of golden trumpet trees (Tabebuia chrysantha) are in blossom on the median east of the Zhuhai Bridge in Nanping. Their apron consists of Korean grass interspersed with crape myrtle (lagerstroemia indica), red and yellow canna lilies, violet ruellia simplex (Mexican petunia), peacock flowers (caesalpinia pulcherrima), and red-leafed cordyline fruticosa (ti plant).

West of the bridge, the Hezhou North section is bright with giant crape myrtle (lagerstroemia speciosa), pink trumpet trees, and cassia surattensis. These trees of various florescence and color, will enliven the avenue with colorful flowers year-round. The pastel pink bauhinia variegates now in full bloom already create a pleasant springtime vista.

Elsewhere, the golden trumpet trees, bauhinia variegate, spider flowers, and snapdragon (antirrhinum majus) at Xiangshan Lake Park; and blue sage, golden and purple trumpet trees, and daisy-like coreopsis on Lovers Avenue are in bloom.
