Four pairs of tourism ferries commuting between Xiangzhou Port and Wailingding and Dong'ao islands resumed operations on March 28.

The ferries are based at Xiangzhou Port off Central Lovers Avenue on Gangkou Road in Xiangzhou Bay northwest of Yeli Island.

The Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone closed all island tourist attractions, hotels, and B&Bs on Jan 25 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Visitors were forbidden entry, with island-bound travel routes from Xiangzhou, Shekou, and Hengqin ferry terminals were halted.

As the epidemic increasingly lessens nationwide and there has been no confirmed or suspected case reported in the area over the past two months, the decision was made to reopen the outdoor tourist attractions under strict anti-epidemic measures. Visitor volume is capped at half of the maximum capacity of local hotels and B&Bs.
