A new ferry route between Hengqin New Area and Shenzhen's Shekou Cruise Homeport will be launched May 1 with a half-price discount on tickets through June 30.

The 100-minute excursion affords views of the Macao Peninsula and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge,Chimelong International Ocean Resort, Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town, Flower Corridor, Mangzhou Wetland Park, China Red Sandalwood Museum, and Shekou's Taizi Bay, Sea World, and Nanshan Park.

It is the first time that Hengqin and Shekou, the two free trade areas in the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, have been connected by ferries. For the moment, passengers bound for Shekou must take a ferry from Jiuzhou Port. The opening of the new route is considered of significance to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao in-depth cooperation, synergy of Hengqin and Shekou tourism resources, and improvement of support facilities for the Greater Bay Area in becoming a world-class cruise travel destination.
