The 50-day Zhuhai Fine Stage Arts Performing Season will present 15 original creative works and selected quality domestic dramas beginning Oct 23, it was announced at a Sept 10 press conference.

According to Zou Jianhong, art director of Zhuhai Performing Arts Group, Zhuhai Opera House, and Huafa & CPAA Grand Theater, will bring in nine domestic boutique shows. Among them, Ningbo Performance & Arts Group will perform the opera You You Lu Ming in tribute to Chinese scientist and Nobel Prize winner Tu Youyou. The Shannxi People's Art Theatre will stage the modern drama White Deer Plain. Beijing Poly Theatre Management and Season of Songs (Beijing) Culture & Art is signed for the children's musical Wonderful Demon Girl. And, the stage play Shakespeare, Don't Be Angry presented by Mahua Fun Age is also billed.

Classics on the program include The Eternal Wave by Shanghai Song & Dance Troupe, Bright Red Star by Shanghai Ballet and Mulan by Liaoning Ballet of China. The China Philharmonic Orchestra will perform under renowned conductor Yu Long, while the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra will dedicate a concert in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth.

In addition, Zhuhai Performing Arts Group is preparing five original shows that include the poetry recitation Memory of Zhuhai – Blue Love, large Chinese traditional orchestral concert Music From the Greater Bay Area, modern Cantonese Opera Daybreak of Guangdong, and children's plays Finding Nemo and Adventures at the Museum.

Local theatres will offer discounts on these performances, and a gratis recital concert will be announced.

The event is organized by Zhuhai Performing Arts Group and Beijing Poly Theatre Management under the auspices of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee. They will bring more high-quality performances to Zhuhai to embellish the city's cultural calling card along with the 2021 Zhuhai Art Festival.
