Founded in the Zhuhai Free Trade Zone in 2001, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai is a 50/50 joint venture between China Southern Airlines and German manufacturer MTU Aero Engines. It is the sole Asian base capable of overhauling both V2500 and CFM56-3/5/7 engines, with a capability of 300 shop visits per year.

After 20 years, it is China's largest and highest-level maintenance base for civil aviation engines with the highest annual output value.

The new subsidiary will give Jinwan capability in aircraft engine maintenance, diversify the local aviation industrial chain, and improve employment quality with specialized talents to be cultivated for the industry.

Relying on such leading companies, Jinwan will further develop upstream and downstream enterprises and a modern aviation industrial system of its own. The business environment is to benefit from all-around support facilities and a crisscrossed transport network in the vicinity.
