Five high-end hotels will be built on HZMB port island
One of the largest hotel clusters of its kind in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been contracted for Zhuhai-Macao Port City on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) island.
High-end Conrad, Fairmont, Shimao Star Hotels Group's Yuluxe, Yu Residence, and Ethos hotels signed agreements Nov 20 to be built north of the Joint Inspection Building at Zhuhai Port.

Shanghai-based Shimao Group will also bring in international art venues, convention and exhibition centers, headquarters of multinational enterprises, and port-themed businesses to diversify the complex, said Wan Dehai, general manager of Shimao Straits Zhuhai.
Christophe Lauras, senior vice president for operations at the French augmented hospitality group Accor Greater China, said Zhuhai-Macao Port City was chosen due to its irreproducible gateway location at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao intersection, high-end positioning, and diversified business layout and planning.
Covering 225,000 sqm (56 acres), the complex will have floorage of 1.2 million sqm (297 acres) for a Greater Bay Area Cultural Integration Base, City Parlor, and Super Consumption Center, among others. It is to become a landmark integrating culture and tourism, international business and office, and transit-oriented development.
