A new outpatient building of Zhuhai Stomatological Hospital in Jida opened June 30 with improved facilities, environment, management, and informationalization.

The facility is at 2 Jilian Road, which runs between Jiuzhou Middle Avenue and Bailian Road. It has 63 comprehensive chairs for the treatment of mouth disease and disorders. Floors 1-7 contain the periodontics, endodontics, dental implantology, orthodontics, prevention and healthcare, and radiology departments, and a newly added children's stomatological center. Floor 8 houses administrative offices and Floor 9 is a multimedia space.

The children's stomatological center has a cartoon motif with light green and yellow as dominant colors. There are six dental chairs, four attending physicians at above master's degree level, and seasoned nurses to satisfy any treatment demands of children. There is also a children's activity area and a parent waiting area.

Costing 45 million yuan ($6.96 million) the building has floorage of more than 6,400 sqm (1.58 acres).

In line with the epidemic prevention and control requirements, the hospital has a strict standard of one consulting room per person, and houses a 500-sqm (5,382-sq ft) well-equipped dental disinfection supply center.

The sole public specialized stomatological hospital in Zhuhai, it primarily provides outpatient, prevention, and healthcare services. The former site at 68 Mingzhu Road will close in mid-July, as it is rented from a private owner and restricted from long-term development, talent introduction, discipline construction, and further expansion. Residents have had to wait for long times for treatment.

To address that, the Zhuhai Stomatological Hospital plans an inpatient building in Jida as part of the City Heart project, while Old and New Xiangzhou will each have an outpatient department. The City Heart site will be a high-standard third-grade specialized hospital with at least 100 patient beds and 200 treatment chairs.
