Gudu Ave upgrade to serve Xiangzhou Tech-Innov Town
National Expressway G105 (Gudu Avenue leading to N Mingzhu Road) will be upgraded to carry more traffic and better serve the industrial demands of Sanxi Technology & Innovation Town in Qianshan.
The 18-month project is to come under construction next month. It links Xiangzhou District and Zhongshan's Sanxiang Town and involves 4.9 km (3 miles) from Nantan Road to the Tanzhou Interchange of the Western Coastal Expressway.
The two-way eight-lane main line will be paved with asphalt to create a "rain garden" in accordance with Sponge City concepts. Intelligent (LED, monitored, adaptive to movement) street lights will be installed.

Furthermore, the eastside auxiliary road will be widened to two-way two lanes. Construction will be done in sections and traffic will be guided at major entrances and exits to minimize congestion on the arterial road.
Zhengfang Nanping Sci-Tech Ecocity Investment & Development is currently advertising for bids for the design and upgrades to both the main highway and auxiliary road. Nanping Ecocity is a subsidiary of Zhuhai Xiangzhou Zhengfang Holdings, a state-owned enterprise involved in many Xiangzhou District projects, including Nanping Sci-Tech Ecocity, Zhuhai Media Group Building, Xiangzhou North Industrial Zone, Zhengfang Cloud Creek Hub, Xiangzhou Social Welfare Center, Sea & Sky (Haitian) Park, Xiangshan Cloud Walkway, Xiangshan Lake Park, City Balcony, and Haibin Beach (City Parlor).
Currently, a Xianghai Bridge feeder is near completion as a viaduct over National Expressway G105. It shares thoroughfare entry-exit ramps at Jiechong and Lixi villages (Sanxi Technology & Innovation Town) north of Shangchong. By the end of this year, the Xianghai branch should be opened to relieve traffic pressure on G105. Motorists heading toward the Western Coastal Expressway can choose feeder ramps at West Renmin Road. The designed speed limit is 80 kmph (50 mph).
