Tangjiawan-based JaFron Biomedical became Zhuhai's first and one of only two China biomedical companies to be selected as Manufacturing Demonstrative Single Champion Enterprises.

 JaFron is cited for its single-use hemoperfusion device, which is used to filter blood outside the body to remove a toxin. Baolingbao Biological (Jinan, Shandong Province) is credited for isomalto oligosaccharide, a low-calorie, high-fiber carbohydrate popular for use in protein bars. They are among 118 chosen companies.

In another category, the lithium titanate battery of Yinlong New Energy (Sanzao Town, Jinwan) and computer-type polymer lithium-ion battery of Zhuhai CosMX Battery (Doumen) made the list of 141 Single Champion Products in the Manufacturing Industry. 

Established in 1989, JaFron Biomedical researches, produces, and finds applications for blood purification products. Its disposable hemoperfusions, BS bilirubin adsorption columns, and DNA immunoadsorption columns lead market share at home and abroad. 

Having earned CE, ISO, and Chinese GMP certifications, the items are sold to 5,400 large and medium-size hospitals in more than 60 countries. Every year, JaFron products save 100,000 patients who have been poisoned, suffer from critical illnesses, or have kidney, liver, or autoimmune disease.

The champions list was released by the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT) in November. According to MIIT, single champions specialize in niche sectors, command world-leading production techniques, and occupy a major global market share with a single product. Those listed are considered pioneers representing China's core competitiveness in manufacturing and the highest level of development.
