Zhuhai People's (Renmin) Hospital and Zhuhai Women's & Children's Hospital now provide timely and efficient online outpatient and free medicine delivery services to meet the demands of residents despite impacts caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic. 

Online consultation services by the Renmin Hospital's departments, including general practice, cardiovasology, oncology, endocrinology and metabolism, gastroenterology, as well as respiratory and critical care medicine, are available. Services related to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control are obtainable until midnight every day and will be extended for patients with special needs.

Fees for online medical treatment are covered by medical insurance and people can use their electronic social security cards for payment. 

Around 100 medicine delivery orders have been conducted from Jan 14 to 17, with the daily high currently standing at 47. Ten patients in controlled areas (including Nanping and Zhongshan's Tanzhou towns) have received needed medicine thanks to the service. 

The internet hospital program of Zhuhai People's Hospital started operation in February 2020 and has benefitted nearly 10,000 patients to date. 

Zhuhai Women's & Children's Hospital's online platform commenced operation last year. It consists of nearly 70 experts in 16 departments. Zhang Lixin, director of the hospital's online platform, noted that added doctors and more frequent working schedules are among the measures that have been applied. The platform's online treatment orders have doubled since the viral outbreak, Zhang added.
