Zizhu Bay Interchange of Jinhai Avenue Bridge near Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park in Jinwan will start its upper structure construction in April. This will create a fast passage between Jinwan and Hengqin by 2023, according to the China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group.

The interchange has two main lines and two ramps connecting both directions of East Jinhai Road. Once operational, motorists departing from Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport will access the interchange from the entrance near Zhuhai College of Science and Technology and arrive at Hengqin Interchange in 10 minutes with a speed limit of 100 kmph (62 mph).

Heading further north, motorists will have access to the Zhuhai link line of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge via Hongwan Interchange, shortening travel time between Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport and Xiangzhou's Nanping down to 30 minutes.

Drilling of the first pier of the interchange started in the end of 2020. As of now, half of its 110 piers have finished concrete foundation and several of them have started girder construction. 

A new round of traffic guiding measures on East Jinhai Road will be implemented this July to make way for the interchange's further construction. Temporary access roads will be opened to ensure the number of existing lanes remain unchanged and minimize impacts on daily traffic. 

Also under construction is the section running between Hezhou Island and east of Sanzao Tunnel in Phase II of the Zhuhai Airport Urban Rail Transit. This section goes across Baiteng River and heads west along the coast to Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport. Upon operation, it will be an ideal railway route for passengers to enjoy the beauty of Zhuhai's coastal scenery.
