2,600-mu semiconductor industrial park planned in Jinwan
Land expropriation for 2,627.88-mu (17,519-acre) Phase I of the Jinwan Semiconductor Industrial Park project has been initiated to create a 100-billion-yuan ($16-billion) industrial cluster for integrated circuits (IC), the Zhuhai Natural Resources Bureau and Jinwan District People's Government announced on March 29.
The 6.67-sq-km (1,648-acre) park is located south of Zhuhai Avenue, west of North Airport Road, north of Hezhou-Gaolan Port Expressway, and east of Airport Expressway. Detailed planning and other preliminary work for the project's first phase, which is equivalent to the size of 243 football fields, is moving forward.

As stated in the Opinion of Cultivating 10 Strategic Emerging Industrial Clusters in Guangdong Province, Zhuhai was positioned to foster an industrial cluster for semiconductor and IC industries with global influence. Jinwan District, aiming to become the city's industrial center, has been focusing on bolstering its IC industry.
Agreements on major projects by Fastprint and Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment have been signed to settle in Jinwan last year, which are expected to generate annual output value of more than 6 billion yuan ($943 million) upon operation and further improve the district's reputation in circuit board package.
Two potential companies, namely Shenzhen Ruiships Semiconductor and Jiangmen Juneway Electronic, settled in the district in January to inject new vitality into the innovative development of the local industrial cluster.
It is expected that the industrial park's supporting facilities and industrial undertaking capacity will be further improved to provide an excellent business environment and abundant carriers for the local IC industry.
