Huitong Village

Cantonese Village Integrating Chinese and Western Styles

Built as early as in the Qing Dynasty, Huitong Village has a beautiful environment with the Phoenix Hill at its back and water in front. It is a typical Cantonese village with architectures integrating Chinese and Western styles. Through village upgrading, not only has Huitong made full use of its resources as an ancient village, but also built a large park nearby. The new and old buildings echo each other with similar black bricks and gray tiles.

Sanban Village

Leisurely Lingnan Water Town

Characterized by water views, Sanban Village at Hongqi Town is a tranquil god-given place where white cranes can be seen skimming over rivers and flowers are in blossom along the riverside. Strolling across arch bridges, through pavilions, over wooden walkways and past green lanes covered by colored asphalt, tourists can experience the tranquility of the Sanban River and have a taste of leisurely life in this water town.

Mutouchong Village

Village Featured with Stone House Cluster and Crane-shaped Walkway

Facing the sea with hills at its back, Mutouchong Village at Sanzao Town features “stone house cluster” with rich local characters. Through decades of wind and rain, the stone houses still stand in good condition with newly drawn wall paintings. In recent years, Mutouchong Village has been greatly upgraded, with a 645-meter-long aerial walkway designed in the shape of crane, passing through the woods and flowers, and well known as a tourist hot spot.

Shangzhou Village

Village with Internet-famous Road and Swamp Cypress

Shangzhou Village at Doumen Town is settled near the mountain by the river, with the Hutiaomen Waterway flowing through. Houses at the village have been upgraded to Lingnan style and the wetland ecological garden demonstrates an artistic conception of water flowing beneath a little bridge. The village road expands along the vast field, with swamp cypress standing alongside. Under the setting sun, cypress trees and their shadows fill your eyes with a splendid brownish view.

Shilong Village

Village of Idyllic Life Full of Poetic and Picturesque Landscape

"In people's haunt I build my cot; Of wheel's and hoof's noise I hear not." Roaming around Shilong Village at Lianzhou Town, you can experience the idyllic life with little bridges over the river and green lanes crossing. Over 100 traditional folk houses and antique buildings stand along the 1.3-kilometer street featured with village courtyards all the way, showing you a flourishing and vibrant Lingnan water town.

Lianjiang Village

Village Good for Bicycling along Fertile Fields

Lianjiang Village at Lianzhou Town, characterized with houses of black bricks and gray tiles as well as blossoms alongside, is full of tranquil Lingnan style. Bicycling on the green lane that connects the village and the fields is an enchanting experience. You will find out the magnificent change of the village under the policy of rural revitalization. At the history museum, you can experience its rural culture and customs directly.

Huangli Fish (Sparus Latus) at Jinwan

Special geographical condition breeds tender and tasty sparus latus, which in 2021 was qualified as a nationally protected geographical indication product.

Chaguo at Dingjiawan 

At Dingjiawan Village at Sanzao Town, villagers serve guests with a kind of hand-made dim sum called Chaguo, which was selected into the third batch of Zhuhai's intangible cultural heritage in 2010.

Baijiao Sea Bass

Produced at Baijiao Town in Doumen District, the sea bass is a nationally protected geographical indication product. Having a thick back and fat belly, it features tender and rich meat and tastes delicious.  

Roast Pork & Spare Ribs at Dachikan

Roast pork & spare ribs is a traditional food in Doumen. It not only inherits Lingnan roast pork flavour, but also presents unique sauce formula and cooking techniques. Crisp outside and tender within, the savoury aftertaste lingers on.

Hengshan Preserved Duck Bundles (Ya Zha Bao)

Hengshan Preserved Duck Bundles (Ya Zha Bao) is a traditional folk delicacy dating to the reign of Emperor Kuang Hsu (Guangxu) in the Qing Dynasty.

Hushan Jincao Pipa Duck

With a history of over 100 years, by using a unique traditional roasting method, the Pipa Duck (with a shape similar to a traditional Chinese instrument Pipa) from the Jincao Deli at Hushan Village of Doumen District is famous for its bright colour, sweet flavour and crispy taste.

Tangjiawan Folk Refreshments (Tangjiawan Chaguo)

Popular at Tangjiawan Town, the refreshments are typically made in line with the Chinese lunar calendar. For example, Big Dragon Cake during Spring Festival, Luodou Zong (sticky rice dumplings) for the Dragon Boat Festival, and Taro Cake in the Mid-Autumn Festival each have a distinct flavour.
