Initial section of North Xianghai Road to connect Jiangmen-Zhuhai Express and North Airport Express Road is being planned. An east-west dual six-lane fast track linking Xiangzhou, Hezhou, and Doumen will take shape in the future.

Bidding for the feasibility research report for the 7.7-km (4.8-mile) initial section has recently started, according to Zhuhai Construction Group. The urban expressway will run from the Jiangmen-Zhuhai Expressway in the east, goes over the Huangyang and Shengli rivers, and ends at North Airport Express Road. 

The number of intersections with traffic lights will be reduced, while the designated speed limit is 80 kmph (50 mph) for its main line and 50 kmph (31 mph) for the four- or six-lane feeder. 

In addition, a proposed dual eight-lane Baijiao Bridge spanning the Huangyang River will connect Chengyu Village in Baijiao Town and Jianfengqian Road in Jing'an Town to meet the traffic demands of local residents. 

The project has been included into 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for Zhuhai's comprehensive transport system development, and is expected to become an access point to the proposed Zhuhai (Hezhou) Hub Station.
