Zhuhai Agricultural Investment Holding acquired Sea Area Use and Tidal Flats Aquaculture certificates for sample operation of its Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intelligent Marine Ranch on May 19, making it Zhuhai's first deep-sea farming project to acquire both certificates this year.

Located near the Wanshan Archipelago, the marine ranch is a key project in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) of Zhuhai's marine economy development. It will be built over four phases to eventually become a modern deep and high sea intelligent platform.

The project's first truss aquaculture platform Wanqu Hengzhou was delivered by CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore on Dec 30, 2021. It has since been towed to Zhuhai's Hengzhou sea area for installation and debugging work.

The aquaculture platform boasts high-performance automation and typhoon resistance characteristics. It will significantly expand the aquaculture area in the sea by dozens of times, increase the output of high-quality saltwater fish, and transform traditional offshore aquaculture models to deep-sea ones.

Staff members of Zhuhai Agricultural Investment Holding noted that the two certificates have laid a solid foundation for the project's further demonstration, operation, and promotion.
