The Zhuhai delegation of 12 fishery enterprises subordinated to Doumen Eco-Agriculture Park signed deals worth 156.5 million yuan ($23.4 million) with 29 purchasers at the China (Fuzhou) International Seafood & Fisheries Expo, which took place in Fuzhou of Fujian Province from June 10 to 12, the municipal Agriculture & Rural Affairs Bureau announced on Tuesday.

This year's expo gathered 312 enterprises from 13 provinces and autonomous regions, including Guangdong, Fujian, Shandong, Sichuan, as well as Anhui. Exhibits brought by Zhuhai enterprises covered the whole fishery industrial chain, including various kinds of fresh and frozen aquatic products, prefabricated aquatic food, as well as aquatic food materials.

Located at the estuary of the Pearl River, Baijiao Town in Doumen District enjoys a unique natural environment and produces numerous products such as the famous Baijiao Sea Bass, which possesses a geographical indication trademark.

Enterprises carried out wide communication and matchmaking activities with purchasers during the event for promoting Baijiao Sea Bass. A series of sales activities included sampling, materials distribution, as well as business talks were organized. 

A special exhibition area for prefabricated food was set up during this year's event for the first time to cater to market changes, while a high-end forum was also held to promote the industry's future development. Zhuhai leading enterprises like Guangdong Qiangjing Agriculture Group and Zhuhai Jiyuan Aquatic Technology made their expo debut. 

In addition, the Zhuhai Agriculture & Rural Affairs Bureau and Zhuhai Agricultural Product Circulation Association were awarded Excellent Awards from the expo's organization committee, while 11 enterprises won Golden Product and Golden Enterprise awards.
