At this year's event, participants will present touching stories of how postmen, village doctors, and rural teachers aided in the construction of Wailingding Island in the Wanshan Archipelago.

The program, which is one of the main focuses of the research center, was initiated in 2019. More than 50 young directors from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have been invited to create 10-minute short documentaries on Chinese culture, which were broadcasted on new media platforms operated by Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan universities.

Li Huaizhi, executive director of the research center, expressed hopes that Macao directors will tell unique stories about Wailingding Island and Macao youth can gain a better understanding of rural life.
