Located west of Gaolan Port expressway, Zhuhai's largest industry 5.0 space project started construction on June 26 and is set to commence operation by year end, offering industrial hubs for Jinwan's advantageous electronic information and smart home appliances industries.

The 423,000-sqm (105-acre) project includes Pingsha Electrical & Electronic Industrial Park and Zhuhai West Station Electronic Information Park in Gaolan Port. It boasts investment of over 4 billion yuan ($59 million) from Huafa Group and Jinwan District and will have floorage of 1.01 million sqm (250 acres).

Being built with the most complete supporting facilities, 15 percent of the project's floor space will be reserved for dormitories, canteens, supermarkets, cinemas, and gyms.

The 2,268 dormitories will have independent bathrooms, balconies, hot water, and air conditioning. Five all-day dining canteens will be able to accommodate 8,000 people at the same time. Also planned are cultural and sports facilities like basketball and badminton courts, jogging paths, and book bars.

The project includes one-stop production service supporting facilities, such as a public service hall, smart product exhibition center, communication and sharing centers, high-security warehouses for dangerous chemicals, as well as a special truck logistics channel. Of note, a high-standard sewage treatment station will be built to treat 2,500 metric tons of industrial wastewater per day, effectively reducing enterprises' environment protection expenses.

The city will add over 10 million sqm (2,471 acres) in standard factories in 2022 and 2023, it was announced during the Zhuhai Industrial Development Conference on April 24. Among which 5 million sqm (1,236 acres) of standard factories will be constructed by Huafa Group.

Jinwan and Huafa Group signed a cooperation framework agreement on May 11, in which Huafa Group will build over 2 million sqm (494 acres) of standard factories in the district, with 1 million sqm (247 acres) of them to be completed by the end of 2022.

Three kinds of standard factories with floorage of 2,500 sqm (.62 acres), 5,000 sqm (1.2 acres), and 12,000 sqm (3 acres) for a standard floor will be constructed to meet the demands of enterprises in the smart home appliances, integrated circuits (IC), and electronic information industries. Further customized design is also available for some of the buildings.

In addition, photovoltaic panels will be installed on all roofs in the project, with an installed capacity of 19 MW. Upon operation, they will generate 23 million kW annually, reducing carbon emissions by 23,000 tons.

It only took five days for selecting land lots for this super-large project, while construction preparations were accelerated. For example, the drainage and desilting work covering over 1 million cubic meters was finished in only five days, while 6 million cu m in earthwork filling was completed in 20 days.

Part of the project's beams, boards, stairs, and outer walls will be constructed with prefabricated components, while building information modeling is being applied to increase construction efficiency, as well as to reduce time and expenses.

Guo Lingyong, chairman of Huafa City Operation Investment Holding, noted that the new project not only has a larger scale but also boosts all-round improvement in design, construction techniques, as well as industrial supporting facilities.

Currently, Huafa Group has set up a joint investment attraction team with Jinwan to carry out precise investment attraction in the cities of Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Foshan, focusing on the industries of smart home appliances, IC, and electronic information.
