Phase II of Sanxi Technology & Innovation Town in Qianshan's Shangchong community will include an Aloft Hotel, a prestigious hotel brand of Marriott Group, according to an agreement signed by Gree and Marriott Group on July 7.

A total of 170 Aloft Hotels are now under operation all over the world, while more than 130 of them are currently under construction. Being the first international hotel brand in the town, Zhuhai Xiangzhou Aloft Hotel will be located on the eighth to 16th floors of the hotel building in Xili Square.

With floorage of 20,000 sq m (5 acres), the hotel will provide 260 guestrooms and support facilities such as all-day restaurants, conference rooms, as well as gyms. Upon operation, it will bring cultural entertainment, community living, fitness, and ecological leisure functions to Sanxi Technology & Innovation Town.

Wang Yu, senior director of hotel business development of Marriott Group, said that the upcoming hotel is different from traditional business ones as it is dedicated to provide modern living services, integrating advanced technologies, and other vibrant features for young travelers. Distinctive local cultural characteristics will also be integrated in the hotel's overall design.

Zhai Ming, deputy director of the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau, said that the hotel is expected to become a new calling card for Zhuhai's cultural tourism industry and help make Xili Square a future hotspot.

Featuring investment of 2.8 billion yuan ($417 million), Xili Square covers floor area of 127,000 sq m (31 acres). Construction started on it in April and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. Together with the nearby former residence of Su Manshu and Jian Ancestral Hall in Lixi community, it is set to become a comprehensive industrial support base integrating cultural innovation, tourism, business, hotel, commerce, and living services.

Cheng Min, assistant president of Gree Group, noted that Gree will make full use of nearby natural landscape and cultural resources, as well as move forward project construction and investment attraction to ensure that a batch of industry-city integration projects will begin operation as soon as possible.
