The bridge-type grab ship unloader produced by Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Group was installed in its designated place at Gaolan Port's Ganghong Wharf after more than three hours of work on July 14.

The 62.7-m-high (206-ft-high) machine is now the No 3 ship unloader of Ganghong Wharf. It weighs 1,550 metric tons and its grab bucket is 52 tons. Optimized techniques were applied on the machine to ensure that it boasts advantages in large lifting tonnage, long grasping distance, and high operating efficiency.

Upon operation, the annual handling capacity of Ganghong Wharf will increase from the previous 8 million tons to 10 million tons.

Ganghong Wharf is a large dry bulk terminal wholly owned by Zhuhai Port Group, which mainly manages the loading, unloading, and warehousing of dry bulks of coal, iron ore, coke, water slag, sand, and stone.
