Upon operation of Sanya Helian Central Business District, Zhuhai Duty Free Enterprises Group will carry out overseas direct and unified purchasing, as well as large trade imports to seek more high-quality suppliers in Hong Kong, Macao, and other overseas areas, according to a staff member of the group.
The group noted that a transit warehouse will be set up in Hong Kong, while a new logistics management system will be developed to lay a solid foundation for operation models in the Hainan FTP, such as duty-free, duty paid, and cross-border e-commerce businesses.
Initiated in 2021, the CICPE is the first national expo in China focusing on delicate consumer products. During the first session, Zhuhai Duty Free Enterprises Group was the first duty free enterprise from the Greater Bay Area to participate in it.
Despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zhuhai's duty-free business realized a growth rate of more than 50 percent in operation revenue in 2021, with the group's total assets reaching 40.77 billion yuan ($6.02 billion) by the end of 2021.
