Zhuhai invests $44m in technical skills training action plan
Zhuhai will invest 300 million yuan ($44 million) to improve the technical skills of local industrial workers and employees of small and medium-sized enterprises, according to a three-year action plan (2022-24) released on Aug 23 by the Municipal Human Resources & Social Security Bureau.
The plan is part of the city's efforts to further implement its "industry first" development strategy and help formulate an industrial worker team.

More than 100 faculty training events and over 1,000 on-site demonstrative training activities in enterprises will be held in the 2022-24 period for Zhuhai enterprises to cover over 1 million industrial workers. Training for 300,000 workers will be organized in 2022.
Precise training plans will be made for local enterprises covering topics like overview of Zhuhai, safety production, fire control, the prevention and mitigation of natural disasters, policy promotion, as well as professional skills in online and on-site events.
The document outlined that each employee of Zhuhai enterprises can receive a subsidy of 300 yuan ($44) for precise self-training, while enterprises can receive up to 300,000 yuan ($43,785) in subsidies.
The first 20,000 users winning credits on two required courses on Zhuhai's overview and safety production will each win 10G in mobile phone internet data. The top 100 enterprises participating in the most training events annually will each receive a reward of up to 50,000 yuan ($7,297). Employees on the list of the top 2,000 credit list will each be granted a certification and reward of up to 2,000 yuan ($292).
By the end of 2024, enterprises in Zhuhai are required to establish a training mechanism covering all employees, striving to create a distinctive brand for elevating the quality of industrial workers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
