A large-scale water, light-and-shadow show will be staged at Hengqin Rowing Park from Sept 16 to 24 to celebrate the first anniversary of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

"Our Hengqin" opens with a light show followed by a light-shadow water dance performance, laser show, and light-shadow short plays to vividly present Hengqin stories to the audience. A performance will be staged every 30 minutes from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The Tianmu River Ecological Corridor, where the park is situated, is a major waterfront scenic belt in Hengqin with open views and clear waters. A stage of natural sceneries will be formed with a 100-m (109-yd) light-and-shadow corridor along with mobile screens on the water surface northwest of the Xiangjiang-Second Yiwen roads intersection.

Digital lighting, naked-eye 3D, and holographic projection will be integrated with light, shadow, music, and drama art forms. Using the mountains as background, water as stage, and culture as soul, this light-shadow show brings together modern art and diversified technologies while enriching the cultural life of residents.

In addition, versatile outdoor recreational activities will be held at Hengqin Rowing Park from Sept 16 to 17. These include the Tinmuk Guangdong-Macao Friendship Regatta, inaugural Hengqin Youth Regatta, a sunset concert, kite performance, and intelligent robot games.

Highlighting Hengqin-Macao cooperation, the activities will focus on technologies and culture in a popular style to display the Chinese temperament, Hengqin customs, and Macao characteristics. The natural scenery, urban landscapes, and cultural charm of Hengqin and Macao will also be exhibited in an artistic way to reveal the new situation of Hengqin-Macao integration.

A dedicated route will open for visitors to go to and from Hengqin Checkpoint and Hengqin Rowing Park from 3:30 to 9:30 pm during that period. Visitors must present negative nucleic acid testing results taken within 48 hours and follow relevant COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures to participate.
