The inaugural Chinese Documentary Film Festival will take place in Zhuhai from Nov 24 to 26, showcasing the integration of traditional Chinese and global culture by telling true Chinese stories. 

The annual festival will be jointly held by the China Film Association, Central Newsreel & Documentary Film Studio, as well as the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee. It will include events like the opening and closing ceremonies, a series of special recommendations of Chinese documentary films, and the collection and broadcast exhibition of short videos for the "Impression Zhuhai" program.

The festival is expected to be a major platform for Zhuhai to showcase Chinese culture. Of note, the documentary film Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will be among the series of special recommendations of Chinese documentary films that will be shown.

The 10-Year Report (2012-22) on China's Documentary Film compiled by Communication University of China will be released during the festival, which summarizes the development of the Chinese documentary film industry in the past decade.

Documentary and science education films that have acquired film public release licenses from Jan 1, 2020 to Sept 20, 2022 can now be registered to participate in the festival before Oct 31. 

The "Impression Zhuhai" program has now started collection of micro films, documentaries, and short v-log videos from domestic film and television production institutions, industrial practitioners, university teachers and students, as well as filmmaking enthusiasts.

The program will focus on the four themes of Zhuhai's city landscape, cultural charm, dream chasing, and nation building. Works that are 10 minutes or shorter will be collected, and submissions must be in an MP4 or MPG format, with each video submission being no more than 3GB. 

People can make submissions by entering the special columns on the Guanhai App or the official WeChat account of Zhuhai Daily to fill in required registration information and upload their works from Sept 26 to Nov 15. In addition, people can post their works on Douyin or the Wechat video platform with the "印象珠海 (Impression Zhuhai)" tag. 

Moreover, all works must be sent by e-mail to zhsds0756@163.com with the application forms. 

Selection of the works will be made from Nov 16 to 20 and the final results will be released on Nov 26. They will then be showcased on platforms like iQiyi and the new media platforms of Zhuhai Media Group.
