Located in the heart of Aviation New Town Central Lake off Jinfan Avenue, the center has floorage of 100,000 sqm (24.7 acres). It contains a six-story theater with 1,200 seats as its core, 500-seat multi-functional hall, contemporary art hall, science popularization hall, as well as supporting facilities, such as equipment rooms and parking lots.
Numerous new technologies and materials were applied in the center's construction to bring to life the gem-like design that was inspired by flocks of birds and drifting sails, which was created by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Upon operation, the project will be the first international public cultural venue to be built with high standards in Zhuhai's west wing. It will be able to meet the demands of large-scale stage performances, such as operas, dance shows, and musicals, while also forming a brand-new cultural and art landmark along with the Zhuhai Opera House in Old Xiangzhou and Huafa & CPAA Grand Theater in Shizimen.
