Seventy-one competitors representing 40 hotel industry units in Zhuhai and Macao participated in the 2022 Zhuhai-Macao-Hengqin Vocational Skills Competition on Hotel Service, which concluded on Oct 26 in Macao.

The competition, which started on Aug 31, is one of the six major programs of the first-ever vocational skills competition in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin since its establishment in September 2021. It has adopted competition standards applied in the hotel service component of the World Skills Competition.

Competitors of the event's final were required to give a self-introduction, conduct a questions and answers period, as well as simulate hotel reception scenarios in English. 

Representatives from the Londoner Macao, the Venetian Macao, and the Parisian Macao each won the first, second, and third prizes in the competition. They were granted the title of Zhuhai Technical Expert and shared a total award of 60,000 yuan ($8,293). The winners of the fourth to sixth prizes shared a total award of 10,000 yuan ($1,382).

Liang Xi of Zhuhai Technician College won the Most Popular Award in the event, receiving a reward of 2,000 yuan ($276).
