Fifteen major projects, with a total investment of 2.8 billion yuan ($386 million), signed agreements to settle in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) on Oct 28.

Among them, 11 projects have a single investment of over 100 million yuan ($14 million) and will generate more than 7.2 billion yuan ($992 million) upon operation, boosting Tangjiawan's leading industries of semiconductors and integrated circuits, biomedicine and medical devices, as well as new energy and smart grids.

All 15 projects will settle in four newly-built industry 5.0 space projects in Tangjiawan, including the Big Data Industrial Park and Gangwan No 7 Super Industrial Community, covering a total floorage of nearly 140,000 sqm (35 acres).

Great efforts have been made by the Hi-Tech Zone in introducing projects as it has welcomed 371 industrial projects with a single investment of more than 10 million yuan ($1.4 million), of which 92 industrial projects were invested in by registered manufacturing enterprises with a single investment of 100 million yuan ($14 million) and with a total equipment investment of 23.3 billion yuan ($3.2 billion). 

Tangjiawan has teamed with State-owned enterprises like Huafa and Gree in building 10 industry 5.0 space projects with total floorage of 2.47 million sqm (610 acres). Ten new industrial communities for industrial workers will be built near these projects and enterprises can enjoy a discount of up to 20 yuan ($3) per sqm every month in renting these communities.
