MTU set to be world's largest engine maintenance company by 2025
MTU Maintenance Zhuhai will be able to repair 700 engines annually when its Jinwan branch starts operation in 2025, becoming the world's largest narrow-body aircraft engine maintenance enterprise, general manager Gert Wagner announced during a Nov 9 Reformation & Development Forum of China Southern Maintenance & Engineering.
Prestigious experts and industrial practitioners in aviation manufacturing and maintenance, such as China Southern Airlines and the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China, gathered at the forum and carried out discussions on the latest products and technologies.

China Southern Airlines has now established the largest maintenance operation service guarantee system in China centering around Guangzhou. It has also set up 18 maintenance bases in medium-sized and large cities across the country.
MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, jointly set up by China Southern Airlines and MTU Aero Engines, is currently the world's leader in engine maintenance capacity.
Wagner added that both China Southern Airlines and MTU Aero Engines are very confident in the aviation development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, adding that MTU Maintenance Zhuhai will focus on formulating an advanced technical system of civil aircraft engine maintenance.
