The total import and export volume of Hezhou New Area's cross-border e-commerce in the first 10 months of 2022 surged 230 percent year-on-year to 9.51 billion yuan ($1.33 billion), both ranking first in Zhuhai, offering strong impetus to the stabilization of foreign trade. 

Officials of Hezhou's preparatory group noted that the total import and export volume of Hezhou's foreign trade increased 15.6 percent to 24.19 billion yuan ($3.39 billion) in the January to October period. The total turnover of Hezhou's cross-border e-commerce in 2022 is expected to reach 11 billion yuan ($1.5 billion). 

In addition, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Cross-border Global Central Warehouse projects have started construction recently in Hezhou. 

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park, which strives to help Zhuhai realize its target of doubling foreign trade volume in five years, has signed strategic cooperation intention agreements with five enterprises, including Sinotrans Limited, Shenzhen International, and Haicheng Group.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Cross-border Global Central Warehouse project will make full use of the supply chain advantages of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to formulate a convenient cross-border e-commerce customs clearance model, attracting e-commerce enterprises to set up central or regional warehouses in Zhuhai. 

Hezhou's preparatory group noted that an intermodal logistics passage covering air, road, and water transportation will be built. Efforts will also be made to boost the development of business models, such as international trade allocation, bonded warehousing, cross-border e-commerce, cold chain logistics, as well as aviation and supply chain services. 

The Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone (Zhuhai Park) is the only customs special supervision area in Zhuhai with sites for both Supervision Code 9610 and 1210 modes. It is now able to conduct cross-border e-commerce customs supervision models of general trade exports, direct mail imports, and bonded stock.

Hezhou has been taking an active part in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone. Its support has been offered in services, talents, technology, and policy. As of now, the zone is home to 19 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, of which eight were Macao-funded.

It has also reached out to local enterprises to learn about their actual needs, establishing a cross-border e-commerce 9610 customs supervision center. The center now allows cargo to finish customs clearance in Hezhou and then get transported to Macao International Airport before being distributed globally. 

The new model now achieved a total export volume of more than 1.5 billion yuan ($210 million) since its trial operation began on Jan 3.

Measures in boosting the high-quality development of the real economy, trade, and logistics have been released by Hezhou, which have been well received by local enterprises.
