Zhuhai's Xiangshan Lake and Jinhu Park green belts are among the 35 places listed in the Waterside Camping Map in Guangdong Province.

Made by Guangdong Research Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, the map is the first of its kind that focuses on waterside camping in Guangdong.

The map applied a new index evaluation system innovated by Guangdong Province, which assess waterside camping sites from four perspectives: safety and convenience, ecological health, comfort, and public popularity.

Only waterside camping sites rated at four-star and five-star levels have been included in the map and the two green belts from Zhuhai have both been rated at a five-star level.

The Xiangshan Lake Green Belt in New Xiangzhou features distinctive Lingnan-style pavilions, paths, lotus ponds, and flower fields around the lake. It is an ideal venue for people to camp in an RV, host themed parties, play outdoor sports, and enrich their minds by learning about local plants and wildlife.

The Jinhu Park Green Belt in Jinwan District is famous for the number and variety of water birds living in the area. It has also been equipped with facilities such as service stations and boat docks.

Green belts are not only flood discharge channels but are also ideal places for residents to relax in nature. As of the end of 2021, Zhuhai has built citywide green belts that span 123 km (76 miles).
