Gaolan, Yantian ports cooperate on logistics channel efficiency
A new logistics clearance operation model, jointly launched by Zhuhai's Gaolan Port and Yantian Port in Shenzhen, began operation on April 20, opening an efficient and convenient logistics channel within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The new model of combined ports allows enterprises in Zhuhai and nearby areas to export their products via Gaolan Port in Jinwan District and transport them to places around the world with the help of international shipping routes that work out of Yantian Port. Conveniently, enterprises only need to go through customs clearance and inspection once, saving time, human resources, and transportation costs.
Xu Haidong, the chief engineer of Zhuhai Port Group, noted that the new model offers logistics guarantees for the high-quality development of foreign-trade enterprises. Additionally, it will help Zhuhai Port transform into a world-class port cluster in the Greater Bay Area.
Lin Guanhao, of Yantian International, said that Yantian Port operates nearly 100 shipping routes to destinations all over the world, which is highly matched with the export demands of Zhuhai-based enterprises.
