Zhuhai issues more policies for business sci-tech innovation
The Zhuhai Science and Technology Industry Ecology Conference was held on Aug 18 in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province.
It attracted the participation of more than 200 research institutions, financial institutions, newly settled businesses, and key local enterprises from Zhuhai and nearby Macao.
Multiple strategic cooperation framework agreements were signed at the event and Zhuhai's 5.0 industry new spaces and other technology industry resources were promoted.
During the conference, the city also showcased its proactive business environment for building a new emerging technology innovation city and talent hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area - as well as for attracting more top-quality tech enterprises and institutions to settle in Zhuhai.

In addition, the Zhuhai Science and Technology Innovation Bureau signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with three State-owned enterprises - the Gree Group, Huafa Group, and Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Group.
In so doing, it established comprehensive strategic cooperative partnerships in seven key areas, including investment promotions, tech innovation systems developments, and technology financial services.
It's expected that the establishment of the partnerships will accelerate the flow and allocation of innovative resources and elements - as well as promote Zhuhai's technological innovation and industrial transformation and upgrading.
In addition, the bureau signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with the Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and China CITIC Bank to establish strategic partnerships in the key areas of enterprise incubations and holding innovation and entrepreneurship events.
The agreements aim to promote the effective integration of sci-tech and finance in Zhuhai and attract social innovation resources. It also aims to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, enhance comprehensive levels of sci-tech innovation, and serve the high-quality development of sci-tech enterprises.
Zou Jianjun, chairman of Guangdong Titans New Power, said that his company had developed rapidly in just over a year - with the strength of its R&D team increasing from a dozen to more than 50 and the output value doubling to over 200 million yuan ($27 million).
Titans New Power is a hi-tech venture specializing in providing overall new energy solutions and backend data services for mobile robots and industrial vehicles. It settled in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) in April 2022.
Zou noted that Zhuhai's business environment was particularly conducive to the growth of innovative companies, especially in the light of its enlightened recruitment policy and related personnel support provided by the city. This had provided great assistance in helping to hire and then retain staff, Zou added.
Zhuhai's Vice Mayor Li Chong said that in recent years, the city has focused on the integration of industry and technology and accelerated the construction of a modern industrial system. It's also continuously been shaping new driving forces and advantages for development and has embarked on a high-quality development path driven by industries and supported by technology.
Currently, Zhuhai is home to 2,308 high-tech enterprises, 713 specialized and new ones, and 48 stock exchange-listed ones at home and abroad.
San Jinghui, deputy director of the Zhuhai Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, said the city would introduce more targeted measures to support sci-tech innovation. This would provide strong support for turning Zhuhai into a new high-quality development engine for the Greater Bay Area, San added.
