Suzhou Women and Children Activity Centre (1st phase) is located on the Southwest of Shishan Bridge, alongside the ancient canal. Opened to the public in 1994, it covers an area of 8,000 sq m. As demand for the center’s services grew beyond its capacity, in 2014 it moved to the south side of Heshan Road, not far from Suzhou Amusement Land and Xinqu Park. The new center covers 43 mu, with a total investment of 260 million yuan ($41.37 million). It was completed on June 1, 2015 and opened to the public in October of that year.
