4. Efficient pro-business service
The Suzhou New District is committed to building up a government of “simplicity, specification and efficiency” and pushing forward the construction of a service-oriented government. For many years, a relatively sound supporting service system has been attracting investment and serving business.
In a comprehensive assessment of the development zones of 14 cities along the coast of China, made by companies such as German's Berining, Japan's Fujifilm and America's SOM, Suzhou New District ranks first.
5. Infrastructure
Power:
The power of the Suzhou New District is mainly provided by East China Grid Corporation, China's largest power supply system.
SND has 55 over-35 kilovolts (kV)-substations, with a total capacity of 2457.5 megavolt-amperes (MVA), including 4 220kV- substations, 8 110kV- substations and 2 35kV- substations.
Water:
The daily water supply reaches 900,000 tons, with a water pressure of at least 2 megapascals (Mpa).
Price: 3.5 yuan per cubic meter
Gas:
The daily gas supply reaches 60,000 tons per cubic meter, with a gas pressure ranging from 0.15 Mpa to 0.1 Mpa and a calorific value of 8,500 kilocalories.
Price: 3.06 yuan per cubic meter
Sewage treatment and discharge:
Rainwater and sewage are discharged separately. The daily processing capacity is 240,000 tons.
Special industrial gas: supplied by Linde Group
Telecommunication:
SND provides high-speed Internet connection services, including multimedia virtual exchange, an integrated service digital network, a Digital Data Network (DDN), T1 & T3 and broadband.
6. Opportunities for advancement
Economic globalization:
Economic globalization is bringing more development opportunities to the Suzhou New District, promoting the circulation of capital, technology, talents, information and other elements worldwide.
The Yangtze River Delta Plan:
SND will take advantages of its location, industries and culture, further strengthen its close connection with Shanghai, and construct a hi-tech industrial base, modern service industrial base and an innovative city.
Driving force of Shanghai:
The advancement of Shanghai, the portal of the Yangtze River Delta and the economic center of the south Yangtze River or even of the country as a whole, can drive the development of the SND.
Suzhou's 13th five-year plan:
The city's 13th five-year plan is to become an international city -- SND will catch the chance and accelerate its development.
