The "Begging for Skills Festival", also known as the "Daughters' Festival", falls on the seventh day of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar. According to folklore, during ancient times, on that evening girls would worship Niulang the cowherd and Zhinyu the weaver girl, thread seven-hole needles, and study spider webs, hoping to become more ingenious.
