Having started operations in July 1995, Suzhou Amusement Land's Water Park began renovations in September 2006, and reopened in July, 2008. The 80,000-square-meter park has attracted investment of nearly 150 million yuan ($24 million).
The project consists of a water park, a business conference center, a sport and fitness center and other supporting facilities. The water play area features safe and reliable new projects, such as a large drifting river, a whirlwind slide and other new water recreational experiences. There are 13 special pools in its spa area, including the Dead Sea pool, a rose pool and fish contact pool.
In addition, the new water park improved the internal environment, creating an atmosphere of Southeast Asian culture. It also protects tourists from the strong sunlight in the rest areas and provides warm water when the weather turns cold.
