Suzhou Chinese Orchestra is scheduled to host concerts in Portland, the United States in July.
The orchestra will stage two concerts on July 27 and 28 at the Portland State University in Oregon and show authentic Chinese culture through the art of music to residents in Suzhou's sister city, Portland.
Of the orchestral music to be staged, Festive Overture has been the most popular piece of major orchestral music in the past three decades in China since its creation, the folk music piece Peony Pavilion·Garden Tour is adapted from a play of the Chinese traditional Kunqu opera and The Moon over a Fountain is the most popular piece of Chinese orchestral music amongst Americans, according to the orchestra.
Founded in Dec, 2017, the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra has been dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese culture by integrating Chinese folk music into the orchestra performance, and re-interpreting and expressing traditional Chinese music through symphony.
