The Majian Shopping Mall in Suzhou New District's Fengqiao sub-district opened its doors to welcome shoppers on Sept 28.
The newly-opened shopping mall covers an area of 19 mu (1.27 hectares) with an investment of 240 million yuan ($34.94 billion).
The four-layer shopping mall is a one-stop commercial center including 192 stores such as clothes shops, restaurants, beverage shops, and amusement places.
Additionally, a large scale farm produce fair also opened in the shopping mall, which satisfies the daily needs of Fengqiao's 100,000 residents and also put an end to the sub-district's scattered farmer's markets.
The second stage of the Majian Shopping Mall, which covers 21 mu with an investment of 350 million yuan, is under construction and is set to be completed by the end of 2019.
To date, a movie theater and a hypermarket have been confirmed to be part of the mall's second stage.
