French firm opens Asia-Pacific headquarters in Suzhou

Coventya Group, a France-based specialty chemicals supplier, opened its Asia-Pacific headquarters and research and development (R&D) center in Xushuguan, a town in Suzhou New District, Jiangsu province, Nov 18.

The new facility brings to 10 the number of R&D centers the company has worldwide.

The newly founded Coventya Environmental Electroplating Technology (Jiangsu) Co, construction of which started in April 2017, covers 1.27 hectares and cost $25 million.

According to a staff member of the Coventya company in Suzhou, as the company's only production base in the Asia-Pacific region, the plant is expected to produce nearly 2 tons of electroplating surface finishing additives each year.

The additives can be used in various industries, such as construction, sanitary, fashion, luxury goods, electronics and oil.

Gao Xiaodong, deputy director of Suzhou New District, said at the opening ceremony that the new company will facilitate the development of high-end equipment manufacturing and information technology industries in Xushuguan town and even the Suzhou district.

Coventya Group is an international company which provides specialty chemicals for electroplating, surface finishing and friction control, and its products are mainly used in the automotive and electronics industries.
