A total of 4.6 billion yuan ($666.71 million) worth of projects are expected to settle in Fengqiao subdistrict, Suzhou New District, Jiangsu province, local media reported on Jan 12.
Among them, 18 projects will receive an investment of 2.5 billion yuan within three to five years and seven projects worth 2.1 billion yuan have started construction.
Eight other companies started operation in the subdistrict on the same day, with an expected annual output value of 1 billion yuan.
In addition, the 40,000-square meter Reception Room of the Life and Health Town at the subdistrict was also put into service.
The new facility will be used to showcase the town's overall performance and its companies as well as serve as a venue for these companies' training classes, conferences and roadshows.
"As the leading industrial subdistrict in Suzhou New District, Fengqiao should focus on technological innovation and attract more high-end industries so as to make greater contributions to Suzhou New District's high quality development," said Wu Xinming, director of Suzhou New District, at the ceremony.
In 2018, six enterprises' research institutes, 34 high-tech companies and 79 private tech companies in Fengqiao were approved on a provincial level.
