Nidec (Suzhou) Co, located at 357 Jinfeng Rd, Suzhou New District, is the largest and most important research and development (R&D) center of the Nidec Corporation outside its headquarters R&D center in Japan.
Nidec Corporation is a world-leading motor manufacturer which made $1.8 billion in revenue in 2019 and has over 300 branches worldwide.
Construction of the Suzhou R&D center, with registered capital of $20 million and total investment of $60 million, started in December 2019 and was put into operation on Sept 27, 2020.
The first phase of the project, which covers 11,900 square meters, will host over 300 high-end researchers and 60 large experimental installations to help test and analyze on-board motors. Its research will mainly focus on electric drive and integrated drive motors for new energy vehicles.
