A conference focusing on the construction of a big data system for cultural heritages and the development of digitalized cultural and tourism industry was held in Suzhou New District (SND) on Oct 30, local media reported.
The event attracted nearly 300 academicians, government officials, and experts, professors, and entrepreneurs in industries of culture, tourism, finance, big data, cultural heritages, and museums.
A digital cultural heritage committee affiliated with the China Society of Image and Graphics was founded and will set up a permanent office at the Shishan Business Innovation Zone.
The committee will work with professionals of cultural heritage and digital technology to carry out project evaluation, result appraisal and transformation, technology evaluation, targeted training, and academic exchanges related to digital cultural heritage.
The event also saw SND inking various cooperative ties with universities and enterprises. For example, the district reached an agreement with the Cultural Industry Research Institute, Renmin University of China to set up a national demonstration think tank for cultural and sci-tech integration.
A national innovative alliance for digitalized cultural and tourism technological applications was initiated on the sidelines. It will integrate the resources of State-owned enterprises and universities to discover innovative achievements and cutting-edge technological projects, cultivate outstanding companies in the cultural and tourism industry, strive to form an industrial cluster, and promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
