Staff members at the COVID-19 prevention and control departments in Suzhou New District recently received a special gift from Kiyoshi Kawabata, a Japanese man who is on a business trip in Suzhou that had just finished his mandatory quarantine.

The gift was a 1-to-30 miniature replica of Kawabata's quarantine room, which includes every detail of the room, from a bed and a TV stand to electricity sockets and an air conditioner faceplate.

Kawabata said that he recreated the room quite smoothly as he is good at doing handwork and had a detailed plan in his mind. He used every waste he could collect, such as paper bags, delivery boxes, as well as coffee cans, and cleaned them up before creating his idea.

Kawabata said that he was touched and inspired by the considerate care he received from local staff members.

Upon arriving in Suzhou, he received a Spring Festival lucky bag, as well as a Japanese bimonthly magazine through which he could access SND's up-to-date business information. He was also consoled by local medical workers when he took a nucleic acid test and couldn't help sneezing.

"I also received many WeChat greetings and reminders from staff members every day, which included detailed guidance on COVID-19 prevention and control," Kawabata said.

"I wanted to give a surprise to the staff members when I left to express my gratitude for their considerate help."

Kawabata said that the room and his quarantine experience in SND will be a beautiful and special memory for him. He added that he will keep it in mind and share it with more friends.
