A platform promoting the unified handling of government services in the Yangtze River Delta region was launched on April 19, local media outlets reported.

The launch ceremony was led by Suzhou New District and joined by representatives of Yangpu district in Shanghai, Taizhou in Zhejiang province, and Bozhou in Anhui province.

It will be the first such platform to be used in these areas and is an answer to the central government's efforts in recent years to decentralize power, streamline bureaucracy, and optimize the business environment to benefit people and enterprises.

To achieve these goals, officials from the four areas have agreed to comb relevant government services, set up service standards and specialized service windows, and offer more convenient delivery services so as to streamline administration, eliminate repetitive administrative documents, and improve the efficiency of government services.

Seventy-two government services involving market supervision, social insurance, medical care, and document queries have been included.

Representatives of the four areas said they will continue to work together to standardize government services and share statistical and technological information.
