East China's Suzhou and e-commerce giant Alibaba kicked off a month-long event on May 12 to promote the "Made-in-Suzhou" brand, local media outlets reported.
Online and offline events will be held to showcase Suzhou's manufacturing strength in areas like intelligent manufacturing and clothing.
The city also launched the official logo for "Made-in-Suzhou" brands and authorized 20 enterprises to use it.
Two products in Suzhou New District will be labeled with the brand: a wireless vacuum cleaner produced by home appliances manufacturer Lexy and an AI ultra-low-light camera designed by video products provider Kedacom.
SND also made an agreement with Alibaba to promote the "Made-in-Suzhou" brand digitally by working together in the fields of medical equipment, semiconductors, and integrated circuits.
SND has also forged cooperative ties with Alibaba's global sales platforms to help sell Suzhou products all over the world.
A matchmaking event held on the afternoon of that day attracted nearly 20 companies, which made deals worth more than 30 billion yuan ($4.65 billion) in areas like intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, auto parts, industrial internet, biopharmaceuticals, new energy, and new materials.
Suzhou has maintained rapid industrial development since the beginning of reform and opening-up. In 2020, the industrial output for above-designated-size enterprises, meaning those with annual operating revenues of roughly $3.1 million or more, reached 3.48 trillion yuan, the third highest in China.
Suzhou is now seeking to participate in the Yangtze River Delta Integration and is speeding up the smart and digital transformation of traditional industries, as well as realizing progress in the emerging industries of biopharmaceuticals, aerospace, nano technology, artificial intelligence, and the internet of vehicles.
