The membership-only warehouse club store Costco has made new progress on the construction of its store in Xushuguan, Suzhou New District.
The Costco in SND will be the American retailing giant's third franchise store on the Chinese mainland. Located in the west of Chengji Road and south of Decathlon, it has a construction area of 52,000 square meters, with a 16,000-sq m first floor market.
The construction of Costco is expected to be completed in September as the roofing of the main building has been completed.
Once opened, Costco is also expected to partner with three world famous businesses, Aeon Mall from Japan, Ikea from Sweden, and Decathlon from France, to form a core commercial area.
Headquartered in Seattle, the United States, Costco is the world's second largest retailer, with $141 billion in annual revenue.
Costco has established 780 stores across the world with 97.2 million members. It has nearly 60 stores in Asia, with more than 10 million members.
