Established by Suzhou New District and Suzhou Frankenman Medical Equipment Co, the Frankenman Institute was recently unveiled in the Suzhou Science and Technology Town.
Aimed at boosting the biomedicine and medical equipment industry in the district, the institute spans 1,270 square meters and will serve as a research and development facility capable of scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, achievement transformation, and international high-end cooperation.
The institute will be operated and managed by Suzhou Frankenman Medical Equipment Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frankenman Group.
The institute will carry out technological research and development, platform establishment, project incubation and investment, as well as achievement transformation and industrialization in the medical equipment industry and other related industries.
The institute and its incubated and introduced companies are expected to have more than 55 staff members by September 2026 and apply for more than 30 invention patents with at least 25 patents approved.
An important driver behind Frankenman Institute's settlement in SND is that the district has been beefing up its efforts to develop the biomedicine and medical equipment industry in recent years.
Universities and institutes like Medaprk, the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Medical Devices of Southeast University have been set up in SND, which will further contribute to Frankenman Group's industry-university-institute development, said Chen Zhiyuan, deputy director of the Frankenman Institute.
